With her musical interest beginning on the piano as early as age three, Florence Lombardo began playing
piano for church choirs and congregational singing at age eight.
She began studying harp at age twelve, and continued right through junior high school, where she played
with an ensemble
in Carnegie Hall, and high school, where she was featured in their production of
Once Upon a Mattress.
At Montclair State College in New Jersey, she not only performed with the MSC Harp Ensemble in St. Patrick’s Cathedral,
and numerous libraries and halls, but made many appearances in symphony concerts, personal
recitals and various musicals like A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum.

She received her BFA in 1980 as a Performance major, with harp as her principal instrument. In recent years, while continuing to teach piano and harp privately, Florence has performed in recording studios for TV commercials, on stage accompanying soloists, in churches with chamber orchestras and choirs, and as a soloist for weddings, special dinners and recitals.
She has extensive experience with restaurant and hotel work and is a steady source of beautiful harp and piano music for many area contractors, including: Mark Elliot, Barry Herman, Regent Scott & Bob Larrow, Steven Scott, Frank Bennett, Leonard Bornstein and Curtis Music. She was the featured harpist for the Michael Douglas & Catherine Zeta-Jones wedding, performed on the red carpet for P. Diddy’s birthday bash, and has played for kings, governors and many stars.
